select o speed oil pressure warning switch

I'm looking for a replacement switch. The part # is 313942. It isn't available through Ford/NH or at any of my parts dealers here. Anyone have a spare or know where I can locate one?

:p You have any idea what size the threads are on that switch?

I don't have an O'Reily's here, only Napa and CarQuest. I'll probably have to take the old one out to get the measurement of the male thread.

1/8" pipe plug, normally closed, opens @ 2 psi single spade switch. That oughta get NAPA what they need. Carquest, maybe.

Texfordfan checked it out with his ohm meter twice and it was open both times. He even checked to see if there was any difference in the resistance when he ran the engine. The only connection he did not check was where the wire connected to the pressure switch behind the cover. Hopefully he will get time to open it up and check the switch without and wiring involved.

Thank you for the information on getting a switch. Hopefully that is all that is wrong with this light malfunction. He is fixing all his wiring issues properly before he moves forward.

With all y'all's help and the local 'college of tractor knowledge' coffee group, I think I've found a substitute. I'm going to open her up tomorrow and begin by testing the old switch directly. If it fails as I think it will, then I'll try my substitute. If it works, I'll post the part # so that anyone else with the same issue can benefit. BTW, it's a currently available part from a parts house.

All right. So opened it up from the top. Good thing because there was no way I'd have had the leverage to get the old switch off, it was pretty tight. Disconnected the old switch from the wire, tested the wire, it was good. Next, tested the old switch. Bad. Hooked up the new switch and tested it, good. Installed and tested, good. Hooked it to the warning light, turned the ignition switch on and the light came on. So the problem was the old switch. Taking a break right now and then I'm going to close up the hydraulics and fire it up and see if the light comes on initially and then goes out. I expect it will. BTW, the switch I used is a NAPA #OP6619, it was a little long but all I had to do is bend the spade flat for clearance. I think I'm going to write that number in my shop manual if the final test comes out good.

All closed up and it worked like a charm. Now on to finding what the former owner did with the wires for the front and rear lights.

Glad to see you are making headway on this tractor. Can I borrow it to do some brush hog work around the pond?
LOL Keep me posted about the lights.
