my neighbor is replacing injectors in his Ford 4000 3 cyl. diesel. He needs the torque specs for the injectors if there is a torque spec

I've not worked on that system Bern, but I find it interesting that the
injector nozzle and fuel pump drive bolts? have the same size and
thread pitch, but one has a 3 lb tolerance and the other a 13 lb tolerance.
Is there something special about the holding clamps to require that?
Inquiring minds...

I can't explain the difference in the tolerances, but the thread pitches are not the same. One is fine thread and the other is coarse thread.

They both say 5/16-18. Isn't 18 the threads per inch?

Oops, I was looking at the top line item, the 5/16-24. You're right, 18 is the thread pitch. I have no explanation for the wide difference
between the two 5/16-18 values.

One set of bolts is seating a copper crush/sealing washer. The other is fastening rotating steel forgings/machined parts together. The clamping requirements differ.

Thanks RickB. As I said, I've not worked on one of these so it made
me curious. I was pretty sure there had to be a reason somewhere.
