2810 PTO

The independent PTO on my 2810 seems to engage mighty hard especially with the 6' bush hog attached. It shakes the
entire tractor, is this normal? Are there any adjustments to lessen the shock load?

Move handle slowly until the shaft just starts to rotate. Pause for a moment, and then engage fully.

Yes, Ford came out with a service bulletin to address this issue. The "fix" consisted of a plate that bolted around the handle with an adjustable "midway pause" point that made it a little easier to do what I described. It later became a production item.
