I previously posted about replacing the cast muffler to pipe elbow on my vertical exhaust on my 850' Thanks for the responses. I purchased an elbow and pipe all in one unit from this site and it fits well. It came with a support piece but I can't figure out how to attach it. Any advice welcome!!

It is just a thin metal strap about five inches long with a hole in each end. I was unable to locate a cast duplicate of the original elbow. I purchased from this site an all pipe replacement. It came with clamps and a support strap and fits but I can't figure out what it attaches to.

I have looked up that cast elbow on Messicks Ford tractor. It shows the factory cast part for a 641 but when you click on the camera icon it shows the newer version. I have one of the cast pieces but I can tell you that mine has smaller in and out holes for the muffler and exhaust stack. I think mine was made for a gas engine as the one in Messicks looks like one I bought for a diesel. Did you buy this part (Part No: NAA55237A). What size is your out of muffler end? If you have the bigger exhaust i think you would prefer the one that ford sells (about $100 to get it to you) as it mounts with 2 bolts to the fuel tank bracket and is rigid. I think the one you bought you will have to bend the strap around the pipe and mount it with just one bolt. I also use a band type clamp as opposed to the old style muffler clamps. Emails open.
