Hydraulic fill on a 72 3400 Industrial

I have a small leak that I'm ordering parts to fix but in the mean time I need to top off hydraulics. Is it somewhere under/near the seat ? Also what brand of fluid would you recommend. I've read the Tractor Supply brand is pretty good. I've only had the tractor for about a month and just trying to figure things out. Thanks in advance
Pete

Welcome to the forum. I have a 1970 3400. Yes, the fill port is under the seat. The overfill plug is located on the right side just above where your right foot rests. Yes, the universal tractor fluid from Tractor Supply Co works just fine. When you're there pick up the service manual for your tractor too.

If you're unsure of the quality of the hydraulic oil in your tractor you might as well change it all out. Good chance that it's got a little moisture in it. While your at TSC pick up a IT FO31 service manual for the ford 3000 (pretty much the same as your 3400) it will show you where to drain, fill and check level on the tranny, hydraulic sump and differential. I have a 3400 and love the old thing, it's ugly but treats me well. Good luck and enjoy. Dan
