871 dash indicator lights

I'm looking for the two indicator lights that go on the dash. I'm not sure that what I've found advertised are the correct ones. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The originals were printed gen on the left one and tra on the right one. I doubt you'll find them other than salvage. New generic red lens sockets that fit the dash should be findable though.

Okay I got the lights off of a salvage tractor. The one for the generator was easy to hook up. However, the one for the transmission has me baffled. It
has a single lead and the other lead goes to a splitter of sorts. Which one connects to the line coming from the transmission? I am assuming the single
one. If it does, I'm sure one of the wires coming off the splitter is a ground. What about the other one. A wiring diagram would be helpful if anyone can
help.

Okay, I wired it up directly I'm not getting the light to come on whether the motor is running or not. Is this just a simple open and close switch? If so, this
one must be bad. I'm assuming this is a positive pressure switch that activates when the pressure is too low.

You are correct that it is a pressure actuated switch that is normally closed when there is no pressure, and opens when the pressure is above some minimum amount, so the light should be on with the key on and the engine not running or when the engine is running and the oil pressure in the transmission is too low. If the light never comes on then either the bulb is bad or the switch is bad, or there's an open somewhere in the wiring. Have you tested the bulb by applying hot and ground directly to it?

Yes, the bulb is good. So I guess the next time I open up the top of the case, I'll try to have a switch on hand to replace the one in there. Thanks for the
feedback.

If I remember right, the switch is accessed thru the side cover on the hydraulic reservoir - seems like the wire runs comes out thru the side cover and runs outside the case - also seem to remember that it's awkward to get to -

My 981 is up in the shed and it's dark and bedtime or I'd look

Absolutely correct!

IIRC, the switch should open @ 2 psi and remain closed below that.

Have you re-split the tractor yet, If not it'd be a good time to test that switch.

Yes, we've already resplit the tractor and put it back together. Had a nice long road test. I'm toying with the idea of going in through the top to get at that
switch. It would be easier to see what you're doing than if you went in through the side. It also won't mess up the paint job I'm about to do if I tackle this
now. Anyone know where I can get one of the switches? Doesn't seem that YT or Steiner's have them and I hate to imagine what NH wants for one.

I think I got one at O'Reilly's. Normally closed, opens at 2 psi. I can't remember if it 1/8 or 1/4 inch male pipe thread though.

So you're thinking of removing the hydraulic deck to do this job, correct?
