It's been a year since I started this project. It was a 4000 AP gas school tractor. I converted the engine to diesel, put a 4400 front axle under it and am steering it like a 3550 but with 4600 integral PS. 545 hard nose. No fenders yet.
Had some very poor 14.9-30s for the back.
I finally got around to starting it about a week ago, put the tires on this week and have it so it will drive onto my trailer on its own.
It goes into storage up at my property on Sat.
Concrete man is coming to pour a 30'X33' slab for a new garage here in a few weeks so it has to go. 1K sq ' is all the City will let me build but I've been without a garage for 3 years so will be glad.
The tractor still needs a bunch of tinkering. Used an oil bath air filter and have to build a tube to manifold.
Have good hyd pressure to remote valves but no lift.
Have a ps pump but no lines yet. Pto starts and stops good. All the gears are quiet.
The school kids were in this one but they didn't tear it completely apart. Engine mostly. Brakes boogered up. Lift cover off.
I will finish it when I get the garage done, work it and see what goes wrong. Have some 24" rims and looking for some tires for them. Has new style tach drive and oil fill in the timing cover. Need a drawbar hanger.
Don't have but a couple grand in it so far.
It's kind of my answer to an SU but I think looks cooler. Thinking I'll use it for bush hogging.
Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

When I saw "4450" in the title, I was looking for something green. Maybe you should call this one "Ultradog's ultramutt" so as not to confuse the machine with the very popular JD4450.

UD I've got a couple extra draw bar hangers but no extra draw bars, if you want one I'll see what it would cost to ship to you, probably weighs around 20 lbs maybe a little more.

Tractors looking good.

Don't worry about the numbers, I used to get confused when JD guys where talking about 4630's.

I assume you know that a 2/3000 hanger won't
fit a 4000. The 4000 one is longer and
thicker.
I am interested in one if you have one for
sale.

Yea I know their different, all I have is for the 4000 style planetary axle and one 5000 hitch.
I have one from a 3939 that's in good shape but am going to install it on my 4000 AP, the pin holes that keep the draw bar from moving side to side are getting pretty sloppy on the original, I've put a 7/16 bolt in the right hole to take up some of the slack.
I have one or two more I'll have to look at, I believe one has some loose rivets but could be welded up solid.
Ether of those you can have for shipping cost.
I think I have one more but will have to look, I'll get back later and let you know.

Anyone that knows UD at all won?t be looking. For a true 4450 in his yard or under his name.
