Ford 4000 Purchase

Found a cheap 4000 the other day. Hasn't run in a year. Ibelieve it's a1969 with Select-O-Speed. The PO welded on the muffler to the flange so the hood won't go on..should be an easy fix. Rear tires are wasted. Got an xtra 3 cyl. diesel, 2 starters and the old generator with the deal. Only paid $1000 for the deal. Think I did ok

Build date of Sept. 30, 1969.
That would be cheap, here, even considering the SOS and without the extra engine.

Since it's already on your trailer you could
just deliver it to me.
I'm just up the road from you.
Take I-82 to I-90 then take I-94. You'll go
right by my house :)
Nice score!

(quoted from post at 11:48:50 06/22/18) I don't know where you're at, but I could
sure use a good engine for a project I
have....

Springfield, Oregon Green Acre
This 3cyl diesel engine is in good shape, i pulled the injectors and squirted ATF into each cylinder and have been cranking it over with big socket on front pully nut

I'll give you half your money back just for that dual remote valve and lines.
Or trade you a single with some boot.

Thinking about that offer Destroked

Let me know
My disc mower and bat wing mower both require dual remotes which limits me as to which tractor I can use them on.

What has happened to GreenAcre?

Yepper you did. Cleanest set of ID numbers I ever saw.

I bought a 4 cyl 4000 SOSwith the tube FEL and bucket for $1k offered price....I had hoped that the zero oil pressure registering was a bad/plugged
gauge.....wrong, rear main fell out when examined. I did get $500 for the FEL....good riddance, PO had lifted too much with it and broke, welded, and
inverted the front axle. Band adjustments were on their last thread but it worked fine for the time I had it. had to put a PTO cable in it.

You did good.

Thanks Texasmark1.... Today i decided to drain the rear end because the oil was clear up to the filler hole on top. I suspected water in the rear end. I was right ...got about a 5 gallon bucket worth plus about 10 gallons of oil. Kinda hard to fit 15 gallons of liquid in (2) 5 Gal. Buckets. The shop floor got a good soaking of oil and water

Got the 3 cyl. diesel running again yesterday after a years nap. She runs good...SOS tranny works good too.
Got several leaks to deal with but no big deal. Some idwad welded the muffler on right above the exhaust manifold so I can't put the hood on yet.
