Rear main seal leaking on Ford 641 Workmaster

I've identified my main oil leak on the bottom of the tractor, coming out a vent hole, as the rear main crankshaft seal going out. I've got a new
one and I pulled the rear main bearing cap bolts to get it dropped down. Not moving... Looks like I have the tractor that you have to split the
engine off of the case. I'm looking for any advice before I start blocking up the frame and start removing the cowling and accessories.
I'm thinking that if I have to remove the engine, it might time to overhaul the engine. Also, does anyone have digital copies of a service manual
for this series? I have most manuals of all my equipment, just not this tractor. Thanks for the ideas or help.
Russ, in Kansas...

Cant help on the digital manual. Loosen all the crank bearings and it will drop some. Hate to tell you but thats a common problem. Success on stopping it is less common.

Click on Modern view and put in search bar Ford 801 rear main seal leak. When the page resets hit search again, it will pull up old posts. While you have the rear main cap loose you can plastigauge it and see how much bearing clearance there is. Hows your oil pressure? Its not that hard to install bearings while your in there. You may have the old style rope seal, some people have trouble with those, some dont. But I would sure try that first before I would break down the engine as long as it was starting and running good. I just had the same problem on a gas model. I had been driving it periodically and it didnt have any leaks and this is a tight engine, all of a sudden it started leaking quite a bit of oil. I think maybe it wasnt done correctly. You can also google a lot of things and it will take you to a forum.
