hydraulic pump

I am posting this for a farmer I know. He has a 1972 Ford 5000 with a worn out hydraulic pump. He was told that
the replacement pump from New Holland is rated at 6 gpm. YT has a replacement pump that is rated at 23 gpm. He is
wondering if anyone has experience with the YT pump and what your opinions are of it. Thank you.

nless you know that the 6 & 23 numbers are at same pump rpm, I think you have nothing to compare. If they are at same (& I doubt it), then you need someone very knowledgeable of this tractor to say whether the valving/controls/etc. can function with 4X the factory flow. I suspect not, but??????

It's gotta be a misprint. It must really be 23 LPM (liters/minute), which is the same as 6GPM.

I just found it. Here is a link to the pump, it actually says 28 GPM at 2000 rpm:

It's got to be LPM, not GPM.

I asked that same thing about a month or so ago. I have a 1974 5000 diesel with a loader. It is not 23 gpm. Miss print or something but not 23 gpm. Heck if I could just get a pump at 12 gpm for my 5000 I would be ecstatic. Just have to live with a slow loader on the old girl unless I go external pump and I don't want to do that. Not that big of a hurry.

You do know that YT does not manufacture nor supply parts per say? They only sell from suppliers that sponsor the site and those are a few different ones. You'll get from whomever has the part in stock but be sure you supply the tractor make, model, and year AND correct part number. They've been known to send the wrong part at times even when given the correct number. I'm talking from experience based on many years ago service.
