Getting the hood off with a loader mounted!

Is it possible to get the hood of a 861 with a Ford loader on it, without taking the loader off? If so, can you keep the grill on? The paint is good, so I don"t want to wreck the paint. It needs a valve adjustment and gas tank work.
 
depends on the laoder I guess.

I can take the sheet metal off my ford 00/01's with my 1-arm loaders on..

grill's gonna want to staw with the hood sides.

With some loaders yes and on some know. On my 841 I can remove the hood with the loader on with no problem but if yours has a cross bar going over the hood like some do it is a bear to get the hood off
 
If it has a botl on front brush guard some times you can pull the brush guard off then slide it forward and off. I have done that on my 8N that has both loader and back hoe on it. I had to pull the hood off to replace the crank shaft pump coupler a few years back and boy what a pain that was
 
I have an 800 series with an unknown front loader. In my case, I can't remove the hood without detaching the loader frame. Poor design.

I would have to remove 5 bolts in the front, jack up the front end loader frame. Undo 4 bolts near the rear axle. Hold it up with an "A" frame and back the tractor out.

What a pain...
 
I have the same size tractor with the Ford 703 loader which has the cross bar on top. I have removed the sheet metal several times, it is not easy and is helpful to have a spare pair of hands to lift it off and place it back on. Remove the grill, remove the bolts at the bottom of the dog legs, remove the bolts from around the instrument panel and lift the sheet metal off in one piece. You can remove the top sheet metal without removing the grill section if you can reach all the tiny bolts that mount it to the top of the grill section, my hands are too big for that. You will probably think of a few choice words for the engineers that designed it.
