Would like to know how others have compressed the Bendix to install the pin.
ACME Electric here in Seattle told me the following: Bendix needs to be in disengaged position. My new one is in engaged position. According to person at ACME need to spin Bendix to disengaged positon. Hold Bendix and use a high speed buffer.
They had a very old special tool to compress the Bendix to install the pin.
Bendix on my starter is loose as I am able to compress the Bendix by hand and install the pin.
