Luke and my TW

I posted this on implement alley because I had asked for information on the disk when my cousin bought it at an auction earlier this spring. Thought I'd put it here too, because of the tractor.
I asked Luke if he was going to trade his 4000 as soon as it's done for a TW. He grinned. "No, I'll save up for a TW."
TW35 and 29 Case disk

Yes, 13. He was a little nervous to begin with, but had a big grin later. "Dad, that was really fun!"
I was in my late teens before I drove a 100+ h.p. tractor (and it was green! - Great-uncle's 4255 Deere)

I used to enjoy spending quality field time in a TW35, until I got behind the wheel of an 8970 Genesis. It felt like it had twice the power, and after putting it on the dyno, I was not far off (170 vs 270).

I actually told him he should skip the TW's and go right to a Genesis. When I bought the TW 17 years ago, the Genesis line was still new enough to be considerably out of my price range.

Tell him to go for it if he can - there is no comparison. About the only thing that is the same between the two models is the radiator cap.
