Fuel delivery issue

Having s problem with my ?66 5000 SOS dying. It will start and restart just fine, but will not stay running. It has new filters and good fuel flow at the lift pump. When I start for first time, it?ll run for 5-10 seconds, start again and it?ll run 10-15 seconds, again and if I keep throttle low it will stay running for minuets...if I bump up the throttle it stops.
I plan on emptying the tank after work today and clean it out, and to check the screen inside fitting. If I don?t find anything there what do you suggest is the next place to check?

Before you empty the tank, take the line off at the tank and make sure you get a nice, consistent flow out of the valve. If you don't, the screen is likely your problem.

I wonder about something else. The Thermostart was not hooked up when I got this tractor, so I bought a new one and teed it to the fuel return line to the tank. This line comes off the last injector (closest to tank) to the nub at the tank cap. Could this be the problem?
