Foed 750 backhoe

3400

Hello
Just installed a ford 750 backhoe on my ford 3400. The problem I'm having is,the operation seems to fast and jerky to work with. Are their restrictors in the hydraulic system? Also I think it may be possible that the controls are incorrect. Looking from the operator position, left to right 1. Bucket 2. Crowd 3. Boom.
4. Swing, I think I remember them set up 1. Crowd 2. Lift (boom) 3. Bucket 4. Swing?
I took a picture of the control linkage seems somebody's been in there! Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Your controls have indeed been "customized". The standard Ford four-lever controls are the way you remember, not the way they are rigged now. Below is a photo from the Ford 713 operating instructions. The 713/723 is prior to the 750/753/755 but the control positions remained the same. On the 713 the only circuit that had any extra stuff was the swing, for cushioning, but it may be different for the 750. You should probably get a service manual and put stuff back the way it's suppose to be. BTW when I bought the 713 some of the controls were swapped so maybe operators of that era had a reason.
