622 Ford combine.

Something different in the Ford line. Bought this 622 last Saturday at a sale for $600. Went back Monday to get the corn head and after an hour of tinkering had it purring like a kitten. Built by Claas but uses the 5000 engine. This one is a gas and diesel was also available. Still have to haul it home and hope to shell some corn with it this fall if we have any corn. Things are pretty dry here in Central Missouri.

Great find, and even greater that you got it running well so soon after getting it for a steal.

Where in MO are you located? I'm in southeast PA but I've got a lot of family around the Freeburg, Westphalia and Rich Fountain areas.

Glad to hear it will be used, not scrapped! I had a 620 years ago, pretty much the same machine. Didn't have a corn head for mine, though. Hope to see some pictures of it in action this fall!

That reel looks like the one my 620 had. I think the wooden bat type reel was standard, and this was their version of a Hume reel.

No. Wanted to see the disk, but put hay down instead. That was about an hour drive for me. I enjoy going to Thornhill sales.
