adding remote hydraulic on ford 600

I have looked on yesterdays tractor and i read some but I'm still a little confused on what exactly i need to be able to add remote hydraulics on my tractor. I want to be able to use my tractor to rake hay for a family member. I know there is hydraulic top cover under the seat that can be replaced but i don't know which one will best suite my needs or what kind i really need. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

crselsor,
To answer you question, we need more info about this rake that you want to run.
The old style rollabar rakes (NH 56-256) did not require any hydraulics at all. They ran from drive wheels.
Some of the new rakes need hydraulics to fold or unfold them. They are driven by the PTO.
Others are run by Hydraulic motors I believe.

So what are you wanting to run??

The hay rake has two hydraulic lines on it. It has probably been 10 years since I have used the rake so my memory is a little foggy. But I guess one is for supply and the other for return of hydraulic fluid. The rake has a cylinder on each side to raise and lower it.

A little hydraulic valve that replaces the flat plate under the front
of your seat. This one happens to be dual remotes/four hoses.
This picture was taken on my 3000, but this valve also fits the x00.
Actually, it fits the x00 tractors better. I put it back on my 960.
The second picture is a NAA valve on a x01 with an adapter plate.

If I use the adapter plate then I bolt my top cover to It. i will add a picture of something I found online and see if you think it will work

You don't have to remove the entire top cover that the seat
mounts to, it is just a small, ~4 inch by 5 inch plate. Five bolts.
I've never used those aftermarket ones, but they are supposed
to bolt on in place of that small plate. I've got the plate out in the
shop. If I get a chance tomorrow I'll take a picture of it for you.

crselsor,
IF (and you need to verify that IF) you just need a pair of lines, one in and one out, then that kit should fix you up.

There is a plate just under the seat with five bolts in it. You remove that plate, clean up the area, put the O-rings on your new valve then bolt it down.

Adding the hoses and the quick couplers with the bracket in the kit would complete the install.
You can also do other things with the hydraulics like a 3 pt boom or hydraulic top link. You would just be limited to one thing at a time.

Its too bad they make the handle and hoses come out the front.
For us guys with big feet, they make it a PITA to get on and off
the tractor. As I said, never used that unit on a Ford, but had
similar on a Ferguson and a 4 x 4 compact tractor. Didn't like 'em.

After searching junk yards for an original ford valve. I only found one for $900. I bought a kit from Ste iners. It bolted right on and works well. Only thing is it doesn't have a detent ball. you have to hold the handle.

Used Ford 2 spool valves are on eBay all of the time, but will run about the same $ as the aftermarket one posted above, $300-$400. For my money I'd choose the used Ford valve.

I got an access cover from the local Ford dealer for my 3000 that gave me an input and output port, ?" pipe. I plumbed it over to a Cross
brand, remote control valve I located near my left hand. Bought all the parts (but the cover) including the remote fittings and bracket to
hold them....specially made for Ford tractors...mounts under the axle casting-main differential casting bolt from TSC.

When using, you don't want you lift arms all the way up......bleeds off pressure at full up...bring them down a little................as I
recall....been years since I installed and used it.......main use was to run a wood splitter cylinder.
