New wiring harness...?

I have done a complete engine rebuild on my ?66 5000 diesel
SOS, and want to get the wiring done right. The current wiring
is a little rigged, and I don?t know enough about Automotive
wiring to fix it...anyone try a new harness like this one?

Did you catch this line in the description? "This harness can be modified to fit gas tractors and tractors with alternators, however you will need to make these modifications since the harness only comes for diesel and generator application we can give you some instruction on these modifications. "
 

That harness is for the three cylinder models, it'll be a little short on the four cylinder 5000.
This is the one you need.

That is important to know. But neither modification is difficult and a new harness, even when so modified, will be far better than a cobbled up 50 year old mess.
 
Yes, I did see that and understand what needs to be done with it. My problem is working with what I have now, and getting frustrated with it!
 
I just replaced the wiring harness on a 1974 4000SU diesel. Got the harness from Agri-Services Wiring Harness Specialist, 716-937-6618, www.wiringharnesses.com. Price is not low as ebay, but much cheaper than New Holland Parts. This harness matched/exceed the OEM harness. The harness fit and required no extra work. It has the disconnect at the transmission/engine in case you ever split the tractor for clutch work, etc. Excellent customer service. Will use again.
