Ford 1710, range shifter stuck.

While dragging my bush-hog around with my 1710, 3 sp/4 range nonsynchro, I somehow managed to get the range shifter stuck. It's in low range, moves fine, s l o w l y, no noise.
I can wrench when I have to, but more of a high-tech nerd. Is this something I can take care of or will springs and small parts take flight when I pull the top cover?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. YT forums helped me keep my 8N going for 18 years. This 1710 showed up a year ago. Well pleased with it until now.
Thanks again.

My 1710 did that once, I shifted and moved it forward and reverse several times and it finally freed up and I was able to shift it threw the ranges. That was a few yrs. ago and it hasn't done it again, as I recall I was digging into a hard pile and pushing pretty hard when it happened.

Thanks for the reply. I pulled the top cover, looked good inside, everything free. Replaced cover, works great.

I saw pictures of you moving snow with a 1710, wondering what brand of cab you have. Looks good. Thanks again.

Rick I apologize, Mine stuck in 4 wheel drive it wasn't the transmission. Sorry it was a long time ago.

I took a quick look for the info on the cab I no I have it somewhere, but it came from the Ford dealer. This picture is of my FIL back in 2010 I sure wish he was still around, that man had some stories. He had the the doors and put them on in the winter but they are to worn out so I don't use them I do have the side covers for the engine but they don't fit because of the loader so he never used them. Any way glad to here you got it working they are nice little tractors.
