I parked my Ford 9600 mid last year. When I tried to use it this year, it cranks and runs... but I can't get it to shift out of
park..

Can anyone offer any suggestions on what the problem could be?
Thanks.

I dont really know those trannys but look it up on CNH partstore to see how it works. Those are good tractors by the way. It may have settled in the dirt putting pressure against the pawl. You might give it a little nudge one way or the other and block the tire. It might move right out then. Dont force anything though. It could be in linkage also.

I can't think why it would happen, but I can't see it being anything inside. The linkage is on top of the tranny, and if you have someone working the lever you may be able to look in under the deck and see where to put pliers on the bell crank to help it.

I looked at the tranny pics, I couldnt copy them. It looks like your parking is connected to gearing sort of like an automatic transmission parking awl. A little rock and roll and it might dance with you.

I just remembered that once or twice I was not able to get mine to release before releasing the chains on the trailer. Tension can keep it bound up, but I still believe that it is far more likely to be external.

Thank you for the information. I'll try your suggestion about the linkage. It is not connected to anything, so it is not under
any pressure.
