Block clutch???

Just curious: I always block the clutch down on my Jube & 4 cyl 2000, & am wondering if I should also be doing it on the 3000? Or are they different & it isn't ever a problem? I have never had a clutch stick on any tractor & would rather I never did!
What is the opinion of the group?

I had a 3000 Ford that every once in a blue moon it would
stick, mainly did it after working it hard and parking it during
damp weather, so I would block it then, cause it would stick
sometimes

I have 10 Ford tractors around here, 8N to a 5200, all dry clutches, some have been around for 50 years. Never have had a stuck clutch. Never have blocked a clutch pedal down. Most have set for 3 or 4 months. So tomorrow I jump on of those tractors after having set for a month and the clutch is stuck!! Shuckie darn. Win some and loose some. How lucky do you feel?

I think the odds of having a stuck clutch depend in part on the humidity of the area that you live in. Also, it has been my observation that Japanese clutches have a higher tendency to stick than others due to a higher metallic content in the discs.

Bottom line is that blocking down a clutch for a tractor in extended storage certainly won't hurt anything, and could possibly spare you from future frustration.
