My pal Kenny bought these 900-10s on split rims a couple of years ago. I don't know why or where he got them. Both the rims and tires are like new.
I had seen them before but never paid much attention to them.
I bought new 14" implement rims for my 3000 maybe 15 years ago. Have been running cheesy car radials on it ever since.
The trouble was I wanted wider tires but couldn't because the tires would rub the spindles and I didn't want to reverse the rims. See first photo for the rub.
So I tried these on my tractor and liked them and bought them from him yesterday.
Note that though the tires are 9" wide there's still about 3/4" clearance between the tire and spindle.
The tires are TEN PLY! A guy can wreck even a 10 ply tire but doubt you'd ever wear these out.
I'm happy this morning and thought I'd pass the info along. A guy wouldn't find a set like this every day but if you do they would make great loader tires and will fit the front on a whole Lot of Fords - probably everything from an 8N through a 7000.
I think I'll post this on the N board too.

Thank you !!!! I?ve been looking around for quite awhile for wider fronts for 3400 with loader and this looks like the ticket. How to go wide without rubbing, or having to recenter the rims, was the problem. But...what is this rim size? I?ve found reference to two-piece 6.00F rim on a Titan Tire page but I haven?t been able to find where to buy them.

If you have a boneyard with combines nearby, that would be another option. My New Holland 1400 has 11L-16's with a deep offset to the rim. Same 6-bolt pattern.

Ultradog, would you mind measuring the offset on those rims? They appear to be scarcer than hen?s teeth to find. Titan Tire and others sells the 9.00-10 tires, and only Titan mentions the rims - recommends two-piece 6.00F or 5.50F rims but I?m drawing a blank on where to get those rims. I?m usually right on the mark with web searches but the only web references I found are the durn generic Chinese web sites that all try to rope you in with yes-we-do-that when the reality is much different.

As Fordfarmer pointed out, another option is 11L-16 but I don?t know the correct rim offset there, either.

Thanks.

I just went out and measured the rims.
The two halves bolt together right in the middle. There is 3 1/2" from the center face to the edge of the rim.
As Fordfarmer said you could look at rims with a deeper offset too.
I parted out about a 1967 4000 once. It had a set of 10.00-16s on it - big fat things.
They fit the 4000 fine with the rims dished the "right" way and might have fit a 3400 too. I didn't need them so just sold them.
Same 6 on 6" bolt pattern. They looked similar to the ones on Lynn Patrick's tractor.
My guess is maybe off a 7000?
Maybe you could look at something like that at a boneyard. Then you could get good, used tires from a 3/4 ton pickup for them pretty cheap.

Thank you very much!!! I?m also watching the offsets because don?t want to break a spindle when I have a bucketful & i?m motoring around.

They look like the two piece 10" rims on my Claas trailed mower and the air craft wheels I got to fit on my brush hog.

Another wide tire setup is the 9.5L-15 tri rib, same height as a 6.50-16 but as wide as the 900-10
I'm going to replace the tall 10.00-16's on my 6610 with 9.5L-15's to get the front end down some.

Just curious; Where are you seeing these rims?
The ones I have would likely be about a 7" or 7 1/2" rim when you bolted the 2 halves together.
By the way, maybe I should have mentioned this when we started this convo - these are short.
I have 7.50 16s on another tractor that measure anout 30" tall.
These 9.00-10s are only about 25" tall.
But I like them short. Theyre about the same height as the 14s I was running.

Ultradog, I?m not sure if you were asking me or
someone else...the Titan Tire rim info i found is in
the link below. In the index, look in the gray box in
lower right corner ?Middle of Book?. Look for
?Approved Rim Contours?. The index says it?s on
page 111 but the 9.00-10 info in the PDF turns out
to be about page 154 and also on the following
page.

An update: a Titan rep called me. Their wheel biz
is strictly OEM and * if * these 6.00F or 5.50F two-
piece wheels were to be made, it would be a large
order with specific offsets & other specs from the
OEM. He referred me to custom wheel makers to
get anything. So, take good care of those two piece
wheels! A side note: according to him, there are
only two companies that have the equipment to roll
all these different rim sizes and profiles: Titan and
GKN in Canada. He said nearly everybody else
buys the pre-made blank rims/finished wheels from
those two companies. (That may prompt someone
to call BS, but just passing along what he said).

Regarding your rim width comment: the Titan spec
book had me scratching my head, too. Rule of
thumb that I?ve seen is rim is about 2? narrower than
the tire. For the 9.00-10?s, that puts your 7? wheels
right in that ballpark. But the Titan book? If ?6.00?
and ?5.50? refer to rim widths, then that?s way off the
rule of thumb. Thanks for the heads-up about the
diameter- I?d already checked about that. As
always, thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Thank
Tire and rim info
