The hydraulic loses prime after a week or two setting. Also pulled the PTO as fluid
was leaking from rear end to hydraulic. Will it work to just put a hook in and slide
hammer to remove seal and bearing?

Hi Ohio88, do you have the I&T FO-19 shop manual? Great info in there. From what I can see from the manual, if your rear end oil is leaking into the hydraulic sump, the front PTO seal is leaking and you will need to split the tractor to fix that. Also that could be the loss of prime problem if the oil level in the sump is too high or improper type of oil (gear lube) and is foaming. Other things like a leak in the pump suction line or in the intake side of the pump will cause loss of prime.

Mine started losing prime every time it sat. When I took apart the pump, the shaft was so pitted that the seal would not hold. Rebuilt the pump and replaced the shaft. Problem solved.

Thanks for the replies. I have 2 different shop manuals. Was hoping to replace the seal without a split. Guess we will see if I can get the seal out first.
