Ford 4000 diesel 3 cylinder ignition switch nut

Somewhere along the line, the nut(s) that hold the ignition switch into the dash on our reenactment clubs old reliable 3 cylinder mowing tractor have gone astray. ( Too many fingers in the pie) Now one has to reach up amongst the spiders and mouse nests and hold the switch in place occasionally when trying to start the old girl. Can anyone tell me the size/pitch of the locking nut? Short of buying a new switch, all it really wants is a nut to hold it in. Thanks for the help.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but lock nuts on switches and dash controls may have a unique thread, certainly finer than SAE Fine. I
just bought a new switch for my 3000, off ebay for a really good price. Maybe it's time to replace the switch anyway?????

Here's what I believe you are looking for:

SPARE PART Nut, Hex, 13/16"-20,

Part No: 356095S2

Old part No: 8N1132A2

Both appear to be NLA from CNH.

If that "spec" is correct, there are trailer axle jam nuts available in that thread and they MIGH be thin enough to work.

Thanks folks. Not familiar with Messicks, but I'm sure Google will lead me there.

Ignition switch nut part # 81806704 is a good number, cost around $4
Messick's shows to have some in stock.
