Flat tires and more FLAT TIRES? What the heck?

I have a 57 Ford 640 with the 3 rib front tires..

Do they sell a tire I can replace these 3 ribs with that would be much stronger when it comes to roofing nails or nails in general puncturing the tire?

I get lots of flat tires if I'm on pavement vs the farm field

tire size is 5.50 6.50 16
My current tires are brand new, but they seem like very soft rubber.

Any ideas how I can put heavy duty car or truck tires on this tractor?

Got the same tractor running the same type tires.
Got tubes in mine with Slime for tubes in them.
Got tired of Mesquite and cactus thorns putting holes in them.
Record before I did this was 3 flats in one after noon while shredding a pasture.

There is at least one company that sells used airplane tires already mounted on rims. They're supposed to be almost puncture-proof.
Your tractor uses a very common 6-bolt pattern... most wagons use the same pattern. You just need to find the right offset, and you
can get those airplane tires, or just wider rims so you can use pickup tires.

You can foam fill the tires,,,

or buy 22 ply aircraft tires from Gensco.. "1-800- no flats" is the phone number.

Thanks everyone for the information..

Think I'm going with the airplane tires from Gensco.

Thanks again!
Great forum

Firestone Transforce tires are pretty tough for front tires. A really good tire wont start showing weather cracks for a long time. I have aset of Firestone Transport1 tires that are close to 50 years old and they are still roadable.
