I have a 4000 ford that I need help
identifying. It has the numbers M4000
8K1B A176403 stamped into it. These
did not match up with anything in
tractor data web site.

The A in the serial number indicates that tractor was made in Antwerp, Belgium

8K1B is the build date, for a -000 series that would be Oct 1 68 day shift.

I don't have the model codes for tractors built in Antwerp

Where are you located? I know of a couple of 4000's that were stamped M4000 like that instead of the regular Ford model number codes, but they were shipped from one of the European assembly plants to a reseller in South America and then exported to the South Pacific (Australia/New Zealand).

Here's a couple links to a discussion from a few years ago about my Dad's tractor, maybe they'll help.
