anyone know how to remove the suction line on a ford 3000 tractor line has a small leak and I can't see how to remove the line looks like one end just goes into the pump and the other end goes into an elbow at
the rear of the tractor.I don't see any mounting bolts or flanges.already replaced the pressure line now the suction goes!

There were two types of lines used on those.
Early type the suction and pressure lines were hooked to a 3 bolt flange and bolted up to the pump and rear center housing. It sounds like you have the late style which had two seperate lines.
Remove the the clamps which clamp the lines to the body of the tractor on the Right side under the running board.
Then you can just grab the suction line and pull it out of the pump. Then pull the other end out of the elbow. On reassembly I CLEAN the line and socket it fits in with a lacquer thinner soaked rag to remove any residual oil then coat the end of the pipe with a TINY amount of silicone. Then slip it back into the hole. Then reinstall the pipe clamps. Done!
Welcome to the board.
Those are outstanding small tractors.

I've never had to remove one, but the parts diagram shows an o-ring on the tube at each end, plus a second seal at the pump end that looks like an o-ring but the description for that one just says seal while the other two say o-ring. there are dotted lines from both the o-ring and seal at the pump end that come together and go into the same hole on the pump.

Shouldn't the o-rings and seal be replaced? I would assume that since it is a suction line that all that is needed are the o-rings/seals for a good seal, and not any kind of silicone or other goop.

If you do use any goop be sure to not get any inside the system, and let it completely set up before starting the tractor so it doesn't get sucked inside the system.

There is no oring on the tube itself. Only
in the mating part it slips into.
Yeah, a new oring would be good. But I've
had 3 different engines in my tractor and
have had the pump off a time or two for
other reasons and never replaced the oring.
Just used silicone. When I say a tiny bit I
mean about the size of 1 1/2 farmers match
heads. Most of it gets squeegeed off by the
oring as it slides in then I wipe the excess
around the pipe/pump opening.
