Ford 2600 isolation diode

Rats completely destroyed the the wiring to the instrument cluster on my 1977 Ford diesel tractor. I am in the process of trying to figure out how to re wire it and I unplugged the isolation diode to solder new leads on the chewed end.I put the diode in my watch pocket and when I get home I discover that I have lost the diode and holder. Does anyone know the Ford part # for the isolation diode and are any available from any source- OEM or after market. If I can't find a replacement diode and holder, I think I will cut all instrument light wiring and reconnect the tachometer cable and forget about idiot lights. Sure would appreciate any help in finding a new isolation diode assembly

Looks like the part number is C7SB10C912A, discontinued by FIAT, Messick's says to contact them, they can probably still get one.

If you understand which way to install the diode (white band is at cathode end) you can substitute a 1N5408 diode, which will have a higher voltage and current rating than the original (good), yet cost pennies.

If you can't find a source for just one, email me and I'll mail you one for a "buck". $0.50 for the diode, $0.50 for a stamp.

Thanks Bob for the fast reply to my question and the good information you supplied. I'll try Messicks in the morning, but I would like to accept your gracious offer for just the diode. I'll email you to get your address. Thanks again, Skip

road, I saw earlier today that you previously emailed me with a mailing address, hotmail tossed it in the junk mail folder.

I mailed you a diode today.

Please let me know that it (hopefully) shows up in a few days.
