I purchased a 6 to 12 generator to one wire alternator kit. My tractor was a neg ground 6volt and is now 12 volt negative ground. It has a 4post starter solenoid. I can't get it to work with the thumb button switch.
The starter solenoid. Batt one side and the starter cable on the other. Standard set up. The "S" terminal is ground to the case and frame. If you jumper between the S and battery terminal it energizes the solenoid. The thumb button when pushed only connects a ground. I can ohm the button and it works providing ground continuity when pushed.
In this set up the thumb button doesn't work. What am I missing?
