Help Me Identify This Tractor Please

Gentlemen,

I'm looking at an old tractor but it's pretty far from home. I asked the man to send me a picture of the model and serial number. All I can make out is 61-D for the model number and loos like 1430 for the serial number. It has a 5-speed transmission and it is a diesel if that helps. I can make out powermaster on the old decal. He believes it's a 1960

Thanks,

Looks like an 861 diesel. Power steering, 24 inch rear wheels, 5 speed live pto transmission, looks to
me to have had a front end loader at one time. Does it run?

Looks to be an early 861D.

I like the 24" rears but I would not pay too much for that one.

I agree that it must have had a loader at some point, and with all that blue paint under the red there is certainly a story behind it. See what it makes for oil pressure. and check in the air cleaner box for an element. I don't see any air intake tube. In its favor it has good tires and the sheet metal appears very straight.

From the looks of that clutch pedal, I would want to check it out pretty good, also the seat rubber system appears to be worn since the seat looks like it leans to the right. Would be ok depending on what he wants and what is wrong with it. Just my thoughts, Keith

Thanks for all the help guys! I think it COULD be a really nice tractor, but I noticed the clutch pedal too and it scared me a little. He says it ran a year ago and everything worked, the more I asked the more he revealed like leaking hydraulic cylinder. He wants $2,000 for it. I told him get it running so people can actually evaluate it. I'm not paying $2,000 for something that I can't at least hear run. I may be wrong about the value of these things and it may be a good deal. I just don't know. Supposedly when he got it 4 years ago someone had just rebuilt the motor. I don't see any signs that it might have been rebuilt like fresh paint lol. It looks like it's had a hard life!
Thanks again, Frank
