Did you come up with 55 from serial number ? And thanks for helping I've been wanting to figure the year out for awhile as I'm new to all this

I agree with Larry's theory of radiator or case swap. Date codes on engine, rear end and axle housings will help narrow down which item was replaced.

The S/N range for 1955 is 10615 - 77270.

I'm working on the numbers on the
Axle housing and engine. As soon
as I scratch them out I'll let you
know what I find.

From that picture, your tractor is a mutt of some kind. My guess, since sheet metal and radiator are from a 901 series machine, the transmission with the model and S/N have been swapped in out of a 960. There's an outside chance, I guess, that it is sheet metal and radiator that are transplants, but it seems as though the transmission would be more likely.

Yes, 1955 came from the numbers you posted from the transmission.

First picture is by PTO lever second is Axle third is under dipstick fourth is front lower left engine block thanks for all the help guy's

Model number and serial number on the trans is for a 55 model 960.
C0NN6015J block number is for a 60-64 172 engine.
Where's that Industrial tag located?

Nice looking tractor!

Based on sheet metal tag, the engine appears to be a replacement Industrial engine.

Trumpet Date Code: C35 = March 3rd 1955
Transmission Date Code: 54Q = April 16th 1955
Hydraulic Top Cover Date Code: 53Y = March 24th 1955
Block P/N: CONN 6015J = 172 CID 1960-1964

With the newer style sheet metal, later radiator and replacement engine makes me think a something like a tree fell across the front. All of the running gear points to 1955.

That engine tag is on same side as
exhaust and carb front lower above
oil pan behind water pump
