Another "What's it worth?"

There's a New Holland TC30 diesel 3 cylinder coming up on a sale near me soon (eastern Iowa). Looks like a cute & handy little tractor, but I know nothing about them. Tires are excellent but missing the 3 point lift arms. Any idea what they are worth & what to look out for?
Thanks!

Of the ten or so tc30's I see at auction, all have hydro drive transmissions and have transmission problems. My brother has one and so far is fine at 500 hours give or take.

Auction tractors tend to have problems, that?s why they are auction tractors. The hydro in a TC30 is no better or worse than the same unit in a
half dozen other New Holland compacts.

yes.. some of these are rental tractors that were probably abused, others are dealer trade-ins that the dealer simply decided it was cheaper to put out to pasture than fix and sell.... but all have around 2000 hours on them or less.
Some of them squeal real loud, some of them will go if you really rev it up, most of the are no-go at all. I think the story is... you cant abuse them and expect them to hold up. Owners were probably pulling tree stumps with them.

(quoted from post at 17:04:04 03/23/18) Whatever happened to gears, people cant clutch and shift at the same time these days?

Yeah, we still can, but if you started out double-clutching a '48 Ford dump truck uphill on a dirt road, you appreciate nice things. :?
