Ford Engineers

Not that I ever doubted them but last week when I mounted my loader, I removed the front weight box just to make sure there was enough clearance between it and the loader arm as not to damage either. I put the box back on today and those engineers had it figured right. Exactly 7/16" left between arm and box with it all the way down. Now... not that I'm doubting them again, but do you think it's TOO much weight on the front end with the loader and full box of weights?

The tires would most likely fail before anything structural on the tractor. But if it were me, I'd take the weights off, at least
when using the loader. It just shifts the center of gravity that much farther forward, limiting your traction, and making it harder
to steer.

I also would take off the weight box off.
For the reason you mention and also because he has very little clearance there while sitting in a flat concrete floor.
If either the rear tires or the loader are in a dip he's going to bruise the pretty paint on both the loader and the box.
My guess is that will happen the first time he ever actually uses it.

Yep - they will flex some when you hit things, even if you only 'hit' a pile of dirt.
The one arm loader my Grandpa had used a rod to trip the bucket. That cable and pulley system looks well done, though.

Yes.

It would not be anticipated that anyone would mount a FEL and front weights at the same time.

From some one who has a one arm loader. Paint is not the only think you will loose. there is enough slop in the mounts to cause material damage as well. Have never seen pulleys guiding the trip cable

The weight box might be nice for a show with the one arm loader
but for practical use,as others have said, would take it off.

Definitely needs to come off. Too much wiggle in the loader(at least in ours) and if the loader goes below level...well that weight box is way too nice to get red paint on it!
