Replacing O ring on Roosa Master 1959 901

I just purchased a 59 901 Diesel. This is my first tractor and first diesel. I have built and restored a few antique cars, but this is foreign to me. The tractor is leaking oil at the base of the injection pump where it bolts to block. I assume the O ring is trashed. I plan to scribe the pump and block and bolt locations prior to removing it. If I pull the pump vertical just to replace seal and set it back down with it aligned will I have any issues with timing? I see people using safety wire on pump shaft to keep it from rotating when the take if off the tractor. Just trying to keep it as simple as possible for the one seal.

Thanks in advance for any help.

There are timing lines inside the pump to align, under the two screw side timing cover on the pump body. Line those up, remove and replace pump there. Engine drive shaft end is offset to go back only one way..
