Replacing 821 lower lift arm pin

My 821 backhoe had a sub-frame that mounted at
several points including the lower lift arm pins.

I did not plan on using the FEL and Hoe anymore, and
since the 821 came without a 3 point I wound up cutting
the one pin with a cut off saw. I left about 11/4 "
protruding.

Now I am installing the hydraulics and I would
like to replace the PIN. No luck budging it with large jawed pipe
wrench. What options do I have?

Further damage whats left and weld a large NUT on the end?

Don't think heat will work? will it?

Weld 1 1/2 sleeve for the larger cat lift arm, and change ball on original arm?

Cut "V" and butt weld new style lift pin, since I still have 1"
left most stress will be carried to the old pin.
Thanks

You'll have to pull the trumpet. There is a
large castelated nut - with cotter pin, on the
inside. I doubt you'll get the old one out any
other way.

Since that is the last thing I want to do my only
option working from the outside is to but weld
a TSC lower lift pin on the end of my cut - off
lift pin and count on the strength of the remaining
pin to hold the 3 point in place.

I can always take apart the rear end in the future
should the need arise.

Thanks for the info. I thought the pin just
screwed into a set of casting threads.

Pulling the trumpet is not that hard, especially if you have a hoist like a cherry
picker for pulling engines. Remove the tire, pull the brake linkage pin, drain the
rear end and one gasket to buy. I would be really worried about that welded pin
breaking when you're using the three point and the implement your using getting
caught on the tire and pulling it up on top of you. That can happen in a split
second and may not end well for the driver in the seat! Not trying to preach, just
don't want to hear about another bad accident. Just my opinion, Greg NE
