Replaced all 4 o-rings on the throttle and shutoff shafts. Did this with pump on tractor. Also replaced fuel filter. Tractor won't start. No fuel to the injectors. Followed all procedures.Cleaned pump before removing cap. Reinserted both springs in the proper hole. Even opened up the cap again to make sure the shutoff and throttle were connected correctly. Tank full of diesel. Bled filter. Removed bleed screw on side of pump, turned engine over and had fuel discharge. Opened up injectors. No fuel. Removed a fuel line off pump. No fuel. What next? Thanks in advance.

Did you engage the throttle shaft top half to the bottom half correctly to get the "key" lined up.. This is a very common problem and the result is that it will not turn on the fuel.. That and getting the cutoff lever in the slot are the two """gotch-you""" on this reseal.... I have seen both problems when asked to step in and find the problem. The throttle shaft must go all the way down to catch the "slot" or really a half moon. Even though the nut tightens down, it does not go down far enough to engage and there for no fuel control is achived even though the top lever moves, the bottom does not.

Hopefully just air trapped that has not found it's way out yet. Could also be metering valve stuck in the off position. If tractor has set awhile without running hydraulic head rotor plungers may be stuck. Been seeing more pumps on teardown like that lately on engines that have set awhile..

Thanks guys. Im going take the top off and check it again. Tractor always fired off first time. So its definitly something I did or did't do to the pump.

I have to crank my 971D for three days straight to get all of the air out if I unit out of fuel.
