Hi folks I've got a engine ID for a ford 641.Its CONN60150.Im told it's either a 134 or a 172?. Alls I know is its 4cyl,gas and electronic ign.

Per my cheat sheet if that last digit is a "C" that is a 172 sleeved block with canister oil filter. If the last digit is a "G" then it is a 134 sleeveless block with cannister oil filter.

I don't think you will find a sleeveless engine with a canister oil filter, in fact I doubt that you will find any CONN engine with a canister oil filter.

Went back to cheat sheet. I should have blown it up the first time. The "G" code was spin on. The "C" code has a note "early 4000 industrial, only C0NN with cannister". I apologize.

That casting number won't tell you CID.
Look for a 3 letter raised casting code: EAF indicates a 172 or EAE means it is a 134.

The C0NN at the beginning of the casting number means:
- C = Casting designed in the 1960's decade
- 0 = Casting designed in year 0 within the decade above
- First N = Casting designed for the Tractor Division
- Second N = Casting designed by the Tractor Division

Translation: The casting was designed by the Tractor Division for the Tractor Division in 1960.
- 6015 just means “engine block.”
- The trailing letter(s) just mean that there were more than one engine block casting designed in that year and which one of those it was (A, B, C, etc.).

In the event it was built after 1957, these part number identifiers will be cast onto the lower right side of the engine block:

310905 - 134 1958-1959
310609 - 172 1958-1959
B9NN-6015C - 134 late 1959 early 1960
B9NN-6015A - 144 late 1959 early 1960
B9NN6015J - 172 late 1959 early 1960
CONN-6015C - 134 late 1960-1964
CONN-6015J - 172 late 1960-1964
