Cobbled some weights on the garden tractor snowblower

Picked up these Craftsman weights, had to adapt them to fit.
No modification to my original rims this way, which wouldn't
have worked anyway because the hubs were in the way to drill
new holes in the rims. Trimmed the excess off after they were
bolted on the tractor. It's 1/2 inch all-thread. How long do you
think they'll last if I don't hit anything with them?

The key is going to be tightening those bolts on a regular basis until the nuts stop moving. Because you're not bolting together two flat
surfaces, things will move around and loosen up if you don't keep after it. Eventually, after everything settles in, the nuts should stay
tight, but again is important that you check them often. Hourly at first, then daily, then weekly, etc.

I would have liked to do something similar but the spot where I park my snowthrower/tractor is too narrow so I had to make a holder on the rear. It is a bracket that has two
pipes that unscrew, for removal in the summer, with weights slid over. Works great and have since found that 2 blocks are plenty.

I figured that all-thread would stretch/straighten Bern.
I'll watch it and tighten it, but not over tighten it.
Only use it for the walk ways and small areas, but weight helps.

JF, I used to have a couple pie weight segments mounted on the
rear, but I put them on the larger version Ford.

Steve, I'm hoping these will make up for all the weight I've lost
in the past few years! ;)

I'm not worried about the all-thread stretching or straightening. I'm worried about bolting two surfaces together that are not flat, which
are constantly trying to be forced apart by sheer weight and centrifugal force. Once they start to come loose, the problem compounds itself
as the hammering action gets more intense. Unless of course you tighten the nuts regularly. At some point, everything should settle in and
you shouldn't have to continuously do it.
