Had some time to work on my tractor. I checked the alignment of the forks. They were fine. I put it in fourth with the cover off and drove it and still jumped out.
Before installing it I had the top shaft out and apart but I didn't check the bottom shaft. I'm thinking there my be a bad bearing.
I have another complete trans I took out today and have the one in the tractor about ready come out.

My '63 2000 jumped out of 4th when I first got the tractor some 20 years ago and continued to do it for a long time. I did nothing about it other than operate the tractor and one day it just quit. No idea as to why it did or stopped other than used it. Maybe you might just drive it for awhile and hold it in 4th with your hand or foot and see if it stops on it's own. Nothing to loose! Try it.
