The hard part of getting the linkage out is removing the control leave hub off the shaft it needs to come off anyways because its probably stuck if not stuck you are home free... I propane torch a little wax a couple small pry bars, brass hammer , patients and they come off... I don't see any advantage to replace that pin with out taking the linkage out its just to simple to remove it... I can replace/install it with out taking the linkage out but don't...

If the quadrant hub is stuck and not adjustableit needs to come off...

I've changed many without disassembly of the linkage or damage to anything.

You will need a set of 1/4" deep sockets, a good 1/4" punch, a 2 1/2 Lb. (or so) hammer to drive the pin in/out, and a 4+ Lb. back-up hammer to support the linkage while driving the pin in/out. The socket(s) can be used to support the linkage while allowing the pin to move inside.

You will also need a trusting helper to hold the back-up hammer and supporting socket while you drive the pin in/out.

Works great.

Yes I have done it BUT why there is ONE cotter pin ONE circle clip the linkage falls out EZ as pie you don't even have to take the linkage apart it will come out as a Assembly, other than getting the hub off the quadrant if its hard to come off it needs to come of anyways... 5 min tops its out on the table
