Ford 5610 Slow Loader Response

1992 Ford 5610 Series II with Westendorf WL21 loader. Factory Remote Control Levers control up/down and bucket tilt. Original 3/8 hoses and oil lines on the loader.

Transmission/hydraulic oil is at full level, hydraulic filter replaced within last 25 hours of operation and small filter was cleaned at the time. 3 point up/down is normal.

Loader Up/down and bucket tilt response is quite slow. Operator Manual page 25 says that the flow control valves can be turned to control oil flow and rate of cylinder response.

I can not get the valves to turn. Are they normally hard to turn, are they binding, or am I doing something wrong?

Should be able to turn with two fingers. They do have a tendency to seize up if they are never used. Myself, I would CAREFULLY try and wiggle it back and forth with a pliers to see if you can free it up. Don't use too much force or you'll bust the levers.

What fittings do you have on the couplers, The older ones with the round ball type ends are only rated for around 8 gpm.
You need to have the extended tip couplings, they'll flow around 15 gpm.

As others said wiggle the adjusting knobs gently with a pair of pliers to get them freed up then turn them toward the rabbit side.

I have a Allied 495 on a 6610, with the adjusters set in the middle the loaders not super fast but fast enough for me, I do have the extended tip couplings.

Flood the rear of the knobs with your favorite penetrating oil and let them sit overnight before reaching for the pliers.

Was a nice day today so tried the pliers treatment and they came loose and would adjust. Started up the tractor and checked the loader and the cylinders did respond a little faster.

Thanks for the help.
