I need to put a new bearing in the generator -- does the pulley turn off or press off? it is the old original 6 volt unit -- has an e-clip on the end also -- Thanks in advance --- Roy

Looking at a parts schematic, it would appear that the pulley is keyed to the armature shaft. Therefore, it should pull off.

It appears they changed to the style you have for the early 8N. Perhaps they made the change during production of the 2N. 9Ns and early 2Ns had the keyed pulley (unless the parts list is wrong)

There were 4 generators used on the 9N and 2N tractors. Since you say you have a 2AN, that means you probably have the 2N-10000 generator. Large barrel, one-wire/three brush type and may or may not have the generator tensioning bracket. This would have the "E" clip secured over the threaded end that the pulley screwed onto. All but the first 9N-10000-A generator used the round-can cutout circuit. I sent you an email...
