4 cyl 2000 remote hydraulics

I need help on my 4cyl Ford 2000. I can't get the 1 way cylinder to drop. It has a 2 handled hydraulic valve under the seat. The inner handle controls a 2 way set up for some implement in the rear. I'm trying to get the other handle to operate a one way cylinder on a snow plow. I don't think I have it plumbed correctly. I have a hose running from the #1 "lift" port to the cylinder. There is a plug on the other #1 port. Is there something else I need to do? I have the I&T F0-20 book, but that is little help, unless you know all of their jargon, can guess what is missing in their diagrams, and know how to do it anyway. Help Please!

Thanks
Tex

There is a screw on most valves that can be turned in or out to put pressure on the lowering circuit or allow it to float. With a single-acting cylinder, you want it in the float setting.

There are a plethora of remote control valves - You will likely get more specific responses if you indicate which model valve body you have. If you don't have the model number then detailed photos will help.

According to the I&T FO-20 manual, page 137, illustration FO286, paragraph 338, it is a 290124 valve. Illustration FO287 on page 138 has 2 diagrams, although they are not identified, it looks like one is a side view and one is a top view. The text at the top of page 137 right hand column, it refers to a "switch valve". On the photo at the bottom of page 135, there is an arrow pointing to a "directional control valve plug." The diagram on page 138 also refers to a "switch valve". Are these the same thing?

Does this look like your remote?

Yes! that looks like mine, although yours has a beautiful paint job, while is ashamed to show it's face!
Anyway, I found the screw, it now works.
Thanks for the info!
