Wanted an Oliver. Brought home a Ford instead

Went to a farm equipment auction today that had an Oliver 880 on it. I knew it would go high, but it went a little too high for my blood.
I bought this Ford home with me instead. Not being a Ford tractor man (just a Ford VEHICLE man!), I had never seen one and quite a few other people at the sale hadn't either, although I did talk to one guy who said his dad had one similar to this, maybe a little bit bigger. They had a table of about a dozen old chain saws, of various brands. High bidder gets to pick what saw he wanted and then the auction continued with the high bidder picking out the next saw. I was high bidder and quickly picked this one. A few other guys that I had outbid said they were also after this saw and they were hoping that I'd pick a different one. Sorry!
I'll never try to get it running. I'm just going to clean it up and put it in my man cave as a conversation piece. Ford 09CS13G. Made for Ford by O&R Engines of Los Angeles, CA.

There were three models. My Grandpa had one, but that was long enough ago that I don't remember which model. One of the regulars (the moderator, I think) on a Facebook Ford tractor page has at least one model, and info on all three. I think it's Ford and New Holland Enthusiasts - We Bleed Blue page.

I have been looking for one of those for over 10 Years. Good thing I wasn't there things could have gotten crazy. Might have been a price War. HA !!

I think you're wise to use that as a conversation piece. It appears, to me, to be something that would be very awkward to cut wood with.

That company, Ohlsson and Rice, was a major manufacturer of tiny two-stroke engines back when.
RC model planes and things like that.

I'm not sure how obscure these are, but we sold them new with the rest of the lawn/garden line. I have one of our ads from an event program, depicting the ford chainsaw. I still have a ford snowblower from our showroom. Nice find !
