Hi guys I finally got a chance to get the pump out of the 5000 was planning on rebuilding the pump but that ain't happening the housing has a Groove in it. I was wondering has anybody purchased a pump lately and where did you get it and how was it holding up? About a lot of stuff from here but they're pump is a little on the high side thanks for any and all information

How deep is the groove? All of those pumps have grooves in them, it just depends on how deep it is.

That said, unless you had a blown seal, if you took it apart because your hydraulics were weak, then you likely need a pump. If you did have
a blown seal, I'd start with that.

Thanks Bern the reason I took the pump off Hydraulics were slow and the pump was Raising sand almost sounded like captivation to me. The bushings are a little loose not as bad as I thought the groove is only in the top half of the main body looks to have cut into it about 12 thousands

ford 5000 hy pump

I have not found a a&i pump for that price. The link you gave me is dealers only. I was looking at one at Alexander tractors for 268. But I don't want to buy a pump that's a piece of junk that's why I asked is anyone had any luck with these aftermarket pumps and if so where did you purchase it.thanks

No one here has replaced a hydraulic pump on a 5000 that can share with me where they got one and how it has held Up. These hydraulic pumps are for sale everywhere even Walmart online has one no way would I buy hydraulic pump from Walmart LOL

I googled A & I Products and found US Farms Parts has the pump listed for $350.65
I've used other A & I products with no issues.

You can also check A & I's dealer locator to find a dealer in your area.

I fixing to replace the original hyd pump on my 69 4000, it'll be the first hyd pump I've had to replace on any of my tractors.
I did rebuild the external pump for my 4500 when I added 3 point lift to it.

Thanks Destroked when I purchased the tractor it look like the pump was new so I did not replace it and it's bad so I was not sure how long these pumps last thanks for that info

Thanks guys for all the info. After talking to several tractor dealers including ford New Holland. There is not the first hydraulic pump made in America anymore they all come from China A & I hicap and all others. I really wanted to go with a&i but was told from more than one source that most of these pumps come from the same Factory. So I settled with Alexander tractors the price was so cheap it's kind of scary but they told me they have been selling this same pump for 20 years with no issues. So I will definitely inform you guys with how the pump holds up. Thanks again
