One arm loader

Got it home this afternoon. Now the work begins. I want to fabricate a snow plow for the spare bucket. Maybe even a cylinder to turn it left and right. Plenty of time till next winter. I'm thinking we're done with snow here. Anyone know what one of these weighs with or without the bucket?
Thanks again Royse!

That one looks in pretty good shape paint wise. Dabbling with the idea on getting one for my 62 4000. They look pretty beefy and able to take some abuse.

You're welcome and it was great to meet you in person!
Too bad that weld broke on the jack when we were loading it.
Got it tilted too much with the loader or bounced it on the ground
is my guess. I should have welded that up for you before you left.

Tom,

I have a loader just like yours (except not nearly as pretty) mounted on my Ford 4000. The tractor is somewhere between a 1962 and an a 1964 but I'm not sure of the exact year.

You might have a good way of mounting the loader onto the tractor, but I don't. It took a lot of grunting on my part to get it attached. The biggest problem is getting the tractor close enough to the loader to mate up the attaching points. You have to drive the tractor in, under the big lift arm and jockey it over close enough to the lift to make the attachment. I have a wide front end on my tractor and no power steering, so it was a real ordeal to jockey the tractor close enough to the loader to make the attachment.

In any event, I like my lift and I'm certain that you will too.

Nice looking 1-arm FEL, Tom.

I do not know what it weighs but thought I'd comment about your plans to add a hydraulically angled plow.

You will need a dual hydraulic valve (or hydraulic diverter of some sort) to operate both the lift and angle cylinders. Complete dual remote valves are a bit hard to find and expensive but your single valve should cover about 2/3 of the cost of one once you find it.

Did you get the charging system functioning properly again?

Good luck.

Hey Tom,

I have an Operator's Manual for that 711 Loader. If you don't have one, and think that you would like one, please send me an e-mail with your postal mailing address. I'd be glad to copy my manual and mail it to you.

I got one on an 8n and my main complaint is that it sticks too far out in front of the ractor, don't know what you are mounting it on so may be different. Make sure you have weight in tires, try to lift anything to heavy the right rear tire will come off the ground even with CC in tires.
Enjoy

Let's see a pic of your setup Mr. Geiger, preferably a pic with snow on it :D

They did make a snow blade attachment for the 711 but good luck finding one. In all the years I have have one arm loaders I have only seen one. I hooked up an old ARPS blade to my 711 manure
bucket on my 631 tractor, Just to push back snow piles. So far this season haven't had to use it.
