7412 Ford Loader

I have a 7412 Ford loader that has a hydraulic self leveling valve that is in pretty bad shape. The tractor the loader came off of burnt and sat in a junk yard for some time.

My question is how good did these work? Is it worth finding another one? I plan to hook the loader to the remotes for now and could see how the valve would be handy. But I also see that it works off of weight on the front and not lifting the same weight all the time might make it a P.I.T.A..

I put a 7412 loader once on a 7610 tractor - the mounting brackets had to be modified to fit the tractor. The self leveling valve worked just fine, but be advised it only works when raising. The combo worked well together.

I have a 7415 which I'd assume would be similar. Contrary to Bern's experience, I don't think mine is all that great.
