Does anyone know the difference between a wisconsin VH4 and a VH4D? I have tried search engines with no success

If I recall the D meant Stellite exhaust valves and seats. Will try and look in some old Wisconsin books in the morning.

I have a 1973 Ford CL30 skidsteer with a VH4D, I bought a service manual for engines VH4 and VH4D, most of the info is labled for the VH4.

I would like to pull that motor and rebuild it.

I rebuilt a TJD a while back. Same top end parts. All the parts should be the same except the jugs and valves, and maybe rotators on the exhaust valves.

I have a V4 flathead Wisconsin on my wood splitter. Not sure what model as I haven't found a nameplate. My uncle had the splitter built in 1959. It was a motor from a hay bailer and he thought either 26 or 28 HP. I'm looking for a fuel pump and maybe a carb float(one side cracked and I soldered it). Any idea what model? It was a 6 volt system, runs much better on 12. Powers my splitter really fine!
