Hi all, I am doing the kingpin bushings on my 1965 Ford 3000 (with power steering). The spindles were a little worn so I figured I would replace them at the same time (aftermarket ones are cheap enough). Looking at the parts books the number is F2NN3105AA - crosses to the easily available aftermarket ones.
However, the replacements I got are about 1" longer than mine, even though they have the same bushing and bearing diameters. They wont go all the way into the axle ends because the step between bushing diameters is too long.
I've looked through the parts catalogs and cannot figure out what the deal is. The stubby spindles are listed as being about 8" tall, which would be about 3 inches shorter than the ones I ordered (11.67" tall), and too short.
I don't have the one-piece front axle, the spindle for that is about the right length but the wrong diameter.
Does anyone know what's going on here?
