Ford 5000 Cooling system pressurizing

I was hoping someone would be able to help, I have a Ford 5000 that I cannot keep coolant in the radiator. When the tractor gets warmed up, coolant will come out of the overflow tube by the radiator fill cap and cause the tractor to overheat after time (I can then go back and add about 3 gallons of water back into the radiator). I do not see water going anywhere else, (i.e. the oil). The only other thing that I can think of that could be related is that I have a decent amount of blowby from the tube connected to the valve cover along with an oily grey sludge dripping from the tube.

Thank you for your help
Justin

Go to your local auto parts and get the test kit for combustion products in your coolant. Some are just test strips like for pool chlorine, others you drip a chemical into a sample pulled from system. If you do have that, then you need to determine cracked head, blown gasket, or pin hole in upper cylinder. Are you getting coolant in your oil?

P.S. Remember you only fill it to just over the tubes, not all the way into the neck. Also take the cap of and check for bubbles, and get the actual temp of the coolant to see if it is actually overheating.

Sludge dripping from the blowby tube is NOT a good sign. If I were a betting man, I'd say that you have a hole in a cylinder wall, either from cavitation erosion in the middle or good old fashioned rust at the bottom. The former is expensive to repair with a sleeve, the latter is difficult to repair at all.

Thank you all so much. I was afraid of that, I started thinking that when I had coolant blow out of my exhaust pipe on start up a few times.

You should have mentioned that in your first post.

Sort of like going to the doctor and telling him you have a cough, and two weeks later saying "Oh yeah, I've been coughing up blood the whole time".

I know that would have helped, I actually forgot about that until now when it was brought up. With coolant making its way to the exhaust would you lean more to a whole in the cylinder or a head gasket?
